The Best of Montgomery County is a competitive team roping championship held in conjunction with the Montgomery County Fair & Rodeo at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. Top ropers from across the region — including the best headers and heelers from county team roping events — are invited to compete in this invitational championship, which features round-robin competition followed by “long go” and “short go” runs. The fastest teams advance for awards, including buckle prizes for the highest-performing ropers and a county-points competition that crowns the most successful county team.
