Texas Plant Tales is a free educational program on Thursday, March 12, 2026 from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM at the Lakewood Branch Library in Dallas, TX, presented by Master Gardener Carolyn Rozier. This engaging talk explores fascinating stories behind native Texas plants, including which species were used for sweeping, needed by the U.S. Navy in WWII, associated with the French Legion of Honor, and even one that made its way to Patrick Henry’s home. Attendees will enjoy learning surprising and memorable plant history and may be able to take home seed packets or sprouted seeds while supplies last. The event is designed for adults interested in gardening, natural history, and Texas flora.
