The Junior Horticulture show is a youth non-livestock competition held as part of the Montgomery County Fair & Rodeo, where young exhibitors showcase gardening and plant projects such as container plants, cut flowers, fruits, vegetables, and other horticultural displays. Participants check in early in the morning, present their entries with required log sheets, and have their projects judged through preliminary and final rounds that highlight quality, presentation, and growing skills. This event gives 4-H and FFA youth the opportunity to demonstrate their passion for horticulture, receive recognition, and learn through hands-on experience with plant cultivation and exhibit preparation. It’s part of a broader set of junior shows that celebrate agricultural education and youth involvement at the fairgrounds.
