The Filly & Gelding Show is a youth livestock competition held as part of the Montgomery County Fair & Rodeo where young exhibitors present their filly and gelding horses for evaluation on conformation and quality. Participants must check in and tag their animals at the fairgrounds before the event, which typically begins with morning check-in followed by judging at the Woodforest National Bank Arena. This show gives 4-H and FFA members an opportunity to showcase their horsemanship and the results of their care and training. It is one of many junior livestock events that highlight youth involvement in agriculture and animal husbandry during the fair’s multi-day celebration.
