Refuge Services

Refuge Services, Inc. is a non-profit organization established in Lubbock, TX, in 1999. It provides equine-assisted therapies such as hippotherapy, therapeutic riding, and equine-assisted psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and veterans with special needs and disabilities. The organization serves a 37-county area surrounding Lubbock and partners with local and regional programs to provide services. Refuge Services' mission is to enhance individual, family, and group functioning by developing skills for problem-solving and goal achievement. They employ authors and trainers in Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy and are a leading EAGALA Military Program, serving many veterans. The organization also provides a therapeutic setting for licensed professionals to incorporate horses into their treatment plans.
