H.O.R.S.E. (Helping Our Riders Succeed in Education) is an equine facility committed to strengthening emotional, physical, and conceptual connections through various modalities. Established in 2003, the center offers Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy, Equine Facilitated Learning, Adaptive Riding, and Corporate Team Services. H.O.R.S.E. works with community organizations to provide services designed to address the physical and mental health needs of clients. A team consisting of a licensed mental health professional, an equine professional, and the equine itself work to improve a client’s physical, sensory, emotional, cognitive, and psychological well-being. The organization provides opportunities to develop skills for solving problems, overcoming obstacles, and reaching individual or group goals. H.O.R.S.E. was founded by Jodie Rose and Catherine Porter. Initially offering services part-time, the organization expanded to full-time services with the construction of an enclosed facility. Over 75% of clients are between 5 and 18 years old, while the remaining 25% range from 18 to 99. In 2016, H.O.R.S.E. conducted over 2,000 hours of year-round programming. The organization's team includes Jodie Rose (Equine Specialist and Executive Director), Debbie Tabb (Equine Specialist), and Russell Porter (Equine Specialist and CFO). Their equine team consists of horses such as Sugar, Loper, Mischief, and Kenny, among others.
