Hefte Ranch

Hefte Ranch specializes in raising high-performing Santa Gertrudis cattle capable of thriving in challenging South Texas environments. Managed by Kathryn, Kenneth Tom, and family across their Hondo and Agua Dulce divisions, the operation runs around 150 head of cattle. The ranch uses performance testing, ultrasound, and genomic data to evaluate traits like fertility, growth, structure, and carcass quality. Originating from a 1940s Santa Gertrudis pedigree, the ranch maintains a legacy of continuous breed improvement. Each year they co-host the successful "Tried & True" production sale in partnership with other breeders. Known for personal service and community presence, they hold a strong local reputation.
