The Cross Bar Management Area is a BLM-managed area in Texas that offers outdoor recreation opportunities such as hiking, hunting, and camping.
The Cross Bar Management Area is a 11,883-acre area managed by the BLM. It is the only BLM-managed surface estate in Texas. The area is open for outdoor recreation, including mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking, hunting, fishing, and camping. The Cross Bar serves as an outdoor classroom for West Texas A&M students and hosts research initiatives by Texas State University. The area also serves as an important big game corridor and transition zone for both whitetail and mule deer.
