Adult Learn to Hunt Program
The Texas Wildlife Association (TWA) Adult Learn to Hunt Program bridges the gap between curiosity and confidence for first-time adult hunters across Texas. Built on the foundation of TWA's nationally recognized Texas Youth Hunting Program — which has guided more than 50,000 young hunters — this program extends that same safe, ethical, and educational experience to adults who are ready to forge a personal connection with conservation hunting and wild game as a source of sustainable food.
Each experience is 3 days and 2 nights, pairing every participant with a dedicated personal guide and mentor from start to finish. Instruction covers firearm safety and handling, harvest shot placement techniques, and field-to-table skills including skinning, butchering, and cooking wild game. All meals — with an emphasis on wild game — lodging, firearms if needed, and full hunting guidance are provided at no additional cost beyond program fees.
The program is free to apply for and open to all adults. Participants must hold a TWA Associate membership ($75/year) or higher, a valid Texas Hunting License, and a completed Hunter Education certification (available online through Texas Parks & Wildlife). Applications are reviewed and hunters are contacted once selected. For more information or to apply, visit texas-wildlife.org.
