Crossroads Cattle Company, LTD. (CCC) was established in August 2002 by Leslie Callahan and Jennings Steen. Although relatively young by cattle industry standards, its founders brought extensive experience in feeder cattle procurement and sales, with a collective 20 years in the cattle feeding industry and boxed beef marketing. The company was formed with a desire to build a cattle marketing operation based on traditional values, respect, and long-term relationships, while utilizing technological advances. Crossroads Cattle Co. is affiliated with Thigpen Livestock Co. (TLC), which provides administrative services such as invoicing, accounts payable, and receivable. The company focuses on direct feeder cattle trade throughout the United States, with access to calves and yearlings from auction market sources throughout Texas through its affiliation with Thigpen. Crossroads provides customers the opportunity to purchase country-fresh calves and yearlings for spot market delivery, execute cash contracts for future delivery at a firm negotiated price, or purchase feeders via basis contracting versus CME Feeder Cattle futures.
