Compadres Therapy, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation in El Paso, Texas, that offers custom-built equine services. The organization's mission is to provide equine facilitated activities and therapies to people in the community with special needs, including those who are physically, intellectually, or emotionally challenged and/or who are economically disadvantaged, as well as those who would benefit from the experience of the human-animal bond. Compadres Therapy works with individuals identified with attention deficit disorder, at-risk youth, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, mental health issues, genetic conditions/disorders, traumatic brain injury, hearing impairment, intellectual disability, learning disability, orthopedic disorders, paralysis, PTSD, speech impairment, substance abuse, terminal illness, violence, abuse or trauma, visual impairment, and weight control disorders. In addition, Compadres Therapy, Inc. works with first responders and serves the Fort Bliss military community, including soldiers, families, and spouses. Veterans of any branch of the military service are welcome to receive services. The services provided by Compadres Therapy include Equine Facilitated Learning, Hippotherapy, and Therapeutic Riding. Compadres Therapy, Inc. strives to match its services with client needs, customizing services (mounted and unmounted) according to the goals of the individuals or groups to maximize outcomes for success. Compadres Therapy is a Texas non-profit organization with a Federally approved tax-exempt status - IRS 501(c)(3). They welcome volunteers to support their small staff. Volunteers perform many tasks, including assisting participants during their sessions and helping with special events, workshops, camps, and other activities.
