Beard Navasota Veterinary Hospital, located in Navasota, Texas, has been serving Grimes and surrounding counties for over half a century. The hospital provides a wide range of services for both large and small animals. For small animals, they offer 24-hour emergency service, wellness programs, reproductive and surgical services, medical services, and boarding. Wellness services include vaccinations, fecal analysis, health certificates, nutritional plans, wellness examinations, screening senior and wellness diagnostic panels, and dental prophylactic cleaning and polishing. Reproductive services include canine semen collection and evaluation, Cesarean section, surgical artificial insemination, artificial insemination, and progesterone testing. Surgical services include spay and neuter, and specialty surgeries. Medical services include in-house CBC and blood chemistry analyzer, urinalysis, digital radiographs (X-Ray), and ultrasound. The new boarding facility offers air-conditioned, comfortable accommodations for cats and dogs of all sizes with large outdoor turnout. The hospital also provides services for large animals, including three hydraulic cattle chutes, an air-conditioned horse facility, and a pen system for cattle hospitalization and artificial insemination.Since 1956, Dr. Bryan Beard owned and operated Beard Veterinary Clinic. In December 1987, Drs. David Luedeker and Don Goodman acquired both clinics, and Beard Navasota Veterinary Hospital was born. As of January 2017, Drs. Schmitt and Eschberger own the practice. The hospital has a rich history, originally being the Camp Family Inn in 1846, which provided a safe haven for travelers and animals. The stone walls in the current reception area are from the original inn.
